The Loan program goals:

• Loan program to promote expansion of small businesses

• Utilizes partnership between CDC, banks, and SBA

• Provides small businesses with access to Wall Street financing

In our small business loan program, in 2003-04, we made 10 small business loans from our in-house loan fund to merchants totaling $132,300; these deals created or preserved 110 jobs. Of these, six were brand new start up businesses. In eleven years of lending, we have made $686,000 in 51 direct loans and packaged $2.4 million in larger loans to banks and other lenders, created 123 new jobs, and retained 365 jobs. Loans were 71% start-ups, 66% minorities, 44% women.
